Frequently asked questions

Can I take my dog to the Isles of Scilly?

Yes! Your dog can travel with you on board our passenger ferry from Penzance or fly with you on board Skybus from either Land’s End or Newquay.

I have 2 dogs, can I bring them both with me?

Yes! If you are travelling on Scillonian III, you can bring up to 2 dogs per adult booked.

If you are travelling on Skybus, we only have 1 crate per flight, however if your dogs are small enough and comfortable enough to share the crate – they can travel together with you.

Will I be able to see my dog on the Skybus flight?

Yes! Our Skybus planes are relatively small, and the dog crate will usually be in front or beside your seat.

Can I bring dog treats with me on board?

Yes! If treats will help ensure your dog is happy and comfortable during the flight we are happy for you to bring some along.

How long is the flight?

The flight is just a short 15 minutes from Land’s End or 30 minutes from Newquay.

How long is the Scillonain III crossing?

The ferry takes approx. 2 hours 45 minutes from Penzance to the Isles of Scilly and there is plenty of indoor and outside dog friendly areas on board the ship.

Are there many dog friendly beaches on Scilly?

Yes! The Isles of Scilly have some of the best beaches in England and most are dog friendly.  Pelistry and Bar Point on St Mary’s are accessible to dogs all year round. However during the summer season some have limited access for dogs between 1st May – 30th September.
