Gry Maritha and Lyonesse Lady came out of service on 19th March for their routine maintenance program. During this time Scillonian III has been carrying all freight to and from the islands, with Swift Lady providing the service to the off-islands.
It has been a busy maintenance period for Gry Maritha including work on the wheelhouse deck, port and starboard alternators and starboard generator. Testing and repairs were carried out on the electrical systems and ballast tanks and 20 zinc anodes have been replaced. Other work included various minor repairs, cleaning and painting by the ship’s crew.
We are pleased to announce that we anticipate both vessels will return to service, as planned, on Friday 31st March.
However, further to our update last week, we would like to remind customers that Gry Maritha requires further maintenance and a brief dry docking on Thursday 6th April.
We can confirm the following sailing schedule for Gry Maritha:
Friday 31st March – freight service as scheduled.
Monday 3rd April – freight service as scheduled.
Wednesday 5th April – cancelled due to dry docking.
Friday 7th April onwards – freight service as scheduled.
We would like to assure you that we are doing all we can to minimise disruption to our freight services.
We will not be able to accept chilled, frozen or perishable goods on Wednesday 5th or Thursday 6th April, and any freight already booked that will be affected by the cancellation will be re-arranged by the freight office.
We appreciate your patience during this time. Should you have any questions, please contact us at Penzance Quay on 01736 334249 or St Mary’s Quay on 01720 424230.
