The islands are the most south-westerly point of England and bathed in the warm waters of the Gulf Stream, they are the first place in the country to enjoy the arrival of spring.

When you explore the islands, yours may be the only footprints on the beach and, with few roads and even fewer cars, life moves at the pace of the tides. It’s a time to relax and a place to unwind.

How To Get To The Isles of Scilly

You might catch the train down to Penzance and sail across to the islands on Scillonian III or fly from Exeter or Land’s End. Greeted on arrival with white sand beaches and clear blue seas you could be forgiven for thinking you had flown long-haul. Instead a scenic 15 minute hop from Land’s End or just 60 minutes from Exeter airport. Or enjoy a leisurely sail on the ferry Scillonian III from Penzance, which takes a gentle 2 hours and 45 minutes. Enough time to marvel at the striking Cornish coastline and wildlife along the way.

If government restrictions do not prevent you from travelling on your booked dates, you can still amend your booking, however our standard amendment and cancellation fees will apply.

Scilly’s unique environment offers a huge diversity of habitats for a wide variety of wildlife and it’s one of the top reasons people give for choosing to visit. Grey seals thrive here, as do song thrushes and puffins visit late spring. You’ll find elm trees, red squirrels, orange birds-foot, the Scilly shrew, dolphins and much more.

Long coastal walks, leisurely paddles between the bays there’s no doubt Scilly has some of the most picturesque beaches in the UK. Home to more than 35 stunning white sandy beaches and magical hidden coves with crystal-clear turquoise waters. You’re rarely more than 10 minutes walk from one and there’s a good chance you’ll have it all to yourself. Our favourites include Great Bay on St. Martins and Bar Point on St. Mary’s.

The climate on the Isles of Scilly can be few degrees warmer than the mainland making the picture-perfect Holy Vale Vineyard the perfect setting to enjoy a delicious alfresco lobster lunch (a regional delicacy with the lobsters having been collected from the harbour that morning) accompanied by a glass of their wine from March onwards in its outdoor café.
