In 2013 we made a record investment in all our travel facilities. This included a new £1 million terminal building at Land’s End Airport, adding a fourth 19-seater Twin Otter aircraft to our Skybus fleet and a £2 million refurbishment of the Scillonian III. As part of a wider programme of improvements, we have plans to hard surface two of the four grass landing strips at Land’s End Airport.
It is scheduled that work at Land’s End Airport will take place from Monday 10th March 2014 and we will aim to reopen on Monday 24th March 2014.
All Skybus passengers, freight and mail will be transferred to Newquay whilst the airport is closed. For all passengers that are booked to fly from Land’s End during this time, we will contact you in due course to offer an alternative flight to and from Newquay at no extra cost.
Land’s End Airport Manager, Chris Pearson said: We are aiming to complete the project as quickly as possible and have timed the work to minimise disruption. This is a significant investment and combined with the proposed enhancements to St Mary’s Airport will make the air links to the islands significantly more robust, especially during poor weather.”
